Personal, Social, Health and Emotional Education & Relationships Education

PSHE/RSHE is taught across all six half terms, throughout the year. Each unit of work within PSHE/RSHE focusses on a different element, known as a 'puzzle piece' and is taught to the whole school at the same time. Children use floorbooks and written books to record their thoughts, feelings and work in PSHE/RSHE. The school uses the 'Jigsaw' curriculum.

For further information, please see our Overview Map for Jigsaw

For further information on how British values are mapped into the Jigsaw curriculum, please also our British Values Map

Teachers use a variety of resources to enable them to plan lessons effectively, including online resources, images, real life objects and artefacts and visitors. We are also a 'Career Mark Primary' school, which threads into our PSHE/RSHE curriculum. Visitors come into school to discuss their career path, ways into different careers and talk to the children to broaden their horizons.

Knowledge and skills progressions are also used to support teachers in ensuring children in remember important knowledge and skills necessary for each topic. These can be found in relevant puzzle pieces below.
