The Curriculum

The School was part of the East Riding Curriculum Development Project. We developed our own long term and medium term planning from the new National Curriculum (2014) and this has been implemented in school since September 2013. All subjects, including English and Mathematics, are taught following the New National Curriculum guidance (2014).

The school uses the Oxford Reading Tree scheme of decodable books to underpin the systematic synthetic phonics teaching and reading within the EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 as appropriate. Currently, the school uses the Letters and Sounds phonics scheme.

Special Educational Needs

The School works closely with parents to support children with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities to ensure that they have full access to the curriculum. The School works closely with outside agencies to support children when necessary. Early identification and appropriate intervention is used to support children throughout the school. The school's SENCO, Mrs Elizabeth Crosby, is contactable through the school office.
