Religious Education RE is taught across all terms, based on the Standing Advisory Councils of Religious Education (SACRE) Agreed Syllabus for Hull and East Riding. Children use RE books to record their responses in RE - this might include art work or written work, for example. Photographs may also be taken of children participating in drama or other expressions and responses. Children learn about a variety of religions and world views through visitors into school, in lessons and through artefacts. Our school also has very strong links to our local church, All Saints' Church. Further exploration of values, themes and worldviews also take place in collective worship sessions daily - see the collective worship page for further information.
Our curriculum also incorporates learning from 'Understanding Christianity' which encourages children to explore 'big' questions. |

See our curriculum for each year group attached below. Teachers use a variety of resources to enable them to plan lessons effectively, including online resources, books, real artefacts and visitors.
As recommended within the SACRE Agreed Syllabus:
Alongside this, further learning incorporates other religions and festivals as appropriate.
Please inform Mrs Christian in writing if you wish your child to be withdrawn for part or all of the RE lessons. |
